OF HOPE

Charity Hope

The Charity of Hope Foundation was launched in 2005 as a charity arm of Furniture Plus to nurture the spirit of giving during the company’s annual Christmas campaigns. Bahamian-made “Candles of Hope” and paper “Angels of Hope” donation tree tags are sold in the stores with the proceeds matched by Furniture Plus and donated to local charities at Christmas.

Since then the Foundation has expanded to embrace charitable causes throughout the year. Customers of Furniture Plus and members of its surrounding communities have participated in selecting and benefiting over 15 Bahamian charities and counting. Besides the tangible rewards and benefits of lending a helping hand, the Charity of Hope Foundation strives to build awareness and help people of all income levels and walks of life connect to each other and help one another in meaningful ways.

Today – Although Furniture Plus continues to develop and promote the Foundation, the non-profit organization is not dependent on any one company and in fact welcomes participation from all who wish to create a better world by donating time, money, and talent to those in need. We strongly believe in the adage that “children are our future” and will continue to build bridges of hope both in The Bahamas and internationally so that we can leave a better world and a brighter tomorrow for our youth.

As Champions for Children, we focus on children’s causes as shown by the following seven charities:

  • Beacon School Rehabilitation Program (GB)
  • The Bahamas Ranfurly Home (NAS)
  • Bilney Lane Children’s Home (NAS)
  • The Children’s Emergency Hostel (NAS)
  • Every Child Counts School (AB)
  • The Nazareth Center Home for Children (NAS)
  • Grand Bahama Children’s Home
  • This list is not all-inclusive.)

Join us to become a “Champion for Children” in your own community.
